CITY SLANG
CD
Mack Aborn 2000
Live recording from various venues in 1978-79 that captures the band in full flight. Out of print.

CITY SLANG
12"
Mack Aborn 2000

Out of print. Companion-piece on 12-inch vinyl appending some live cuts not on the CD:
That's All Right With Me - Second Chance, Ann Arbor, Michigan 1977
So Sincerely Yours - Palace Theatre, Cleveland, Ohio June 23rd 1979
China Fields - Second Chance, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 21st April 1980 (Soundcheck)
City Slang - Arte Fields Studio's, Nov 1977 - Sept 1978
Notes:"That's All Right With Me" is a fast version of "A Clock With No Hands" it seems.
"China Fields" was the bonus hidden track on the "Sweet Nothing" CD. City Slang is the studio version.
SWEET NOTHIN'
CD
Mack Aborn 1998
Scorching live recording from the Second Chance, Ann Arbor, on April 4, 1978. Long out of print.
DESTROY ALL MONSTERS - Ron Asheton
Revenge/Fan Club
Split album of French origin and dubious legality. One side is ex-Stooge Ron Asheton's band Destroy All Monsters, the other is Sonic's Rendezvous Band. Mouse over the image to see the back cover
STRIKES LIKE LIGHTNING
LP
Bootleg 1980s
Allegedly culled from various radio appearances, it's lo-fi and tough going. Re-issued many times over and believed to have originally come from the US. The 2001 (?) version from Germany is even worse audio quality.
DO IT AGAIN
LP
Bootleg 1980s
Legend has it that the American backyard plant that pressed this was raided, hence the lack of labels. These are inserts, not stuck to the cover. Put out almost certainly by the Punk Vault guy who did The Only Ones and Radio Birdman on this label too. Runs a little too fast.
Track listing is incorrect
: You're Not So Bad.. is Detroit Tango and Same In Love is Dangerous.
WHAT'S THE BEEF
LP
Bootleg 1980s
Two versions of the same appalling quality bootleg. Mouse over the cover so you know what to avoid. The first is suspected tohave come from an Australian bootlegger (the "So What" label) who also issued an unauthorised Cramps LP, but who knows? A muddy-sounding version of the City Slang slang studio single...and it goes downhill from there.
CITY SLANG
7"
Bootleg 1980s and '90s
Booted many times over, sometimes with rear artwork close to the original. Take your pick of red, blue or black writing. Roll your mose over and you'll see the first two.
CITY SLANG
10"
Bootleg imitation acetate c.1990s
Possibly of Italian or German origin, this is not an original acetate (although the odd eBayer may claim it to be so.) Similar jobs have been done on the Sex Pistols and the Clash. Mouse over to see the back cover.
CITY SLANG

Orchide 1979

Only officially-released single - a stereo version of the song backed with a mono version. The copy shown is a promo that carried an insert. A second pressing came with blue writing on the cover.
Note: Although most of the above are unauthorised recordings, they are listed here for the benefit of collectors and for the advice of those who are want to be "buyer beware". Thanks to Graham Ling for assistance.
